Examination Of Title Being Made Thousands Of acres In Ligonier Valley Have Been Leased By Different Parties
There has been considerable excitement and interest manifested of late in reference to the leasing and sale of coal territory of Ligonier Valley. Several tracts have been leased which if reports are correct either have been sold or soon will be sold. There is a tract of
the top vein or seven foot vein lying in Ligonier and Fairfield townships including the farms of Irvin Ross, H. H. Wineland and others, consisting of about 1,500 acres. Engineers are at work surveying the coal of this tract. J. N. Crosland, of Pittsburgh, has been negotiating for this tract and a sale has practically been concluded. The price paid is from $75.00 to $100.00 per acre.
