Picnics the Past Week

The past week has been a good one for picnics and those held at Idlewild have been well attended. Those held so far have been of the local sort. Just a gathering of friends together from the nearby towns with the exception of the employees of the Standard Horse Nail works at New Brighton, who picnicked here on the 18th for the first time with about 600 of their friends from the Beaver Valley.

These people have been to nearly every picnic ground in the western part of this state and they said Idlewild was the nicest place they had been yet. This was also the first picnic from the west of Pittsburg that has ever been at Idlewild. The others picnics were as follows:

14 - Latrobe M. C. church with a very enjoyable gathering of between 400 and 500.

15 - The Lutheran church of Johnstown with about 300.

16 - Latrobe Presbyterian church, about 500.

17 - Pittsburg academy has been coming here for years and always enjoy themselves about 600 present.

A new siding will be put in at Millbank for storage of trains at the coming big reunions at Idlewild this season.
