Ligonier Valley Picnicked
Drivers Are Howling at an Unwritten Park Regulation

Ligonier, Aug. 24. (Special.) The Ligonier valley reunion held at Idlewild on Thursday was a most enjoyable affair and drew a crown of over 3,000 persons. Unlike many gatherings held at Idlewild the valley reunion was no money-making affair, but simply the reproduction of an old-fashioned picnic on a big scale.

In addition to the attractions provided by the managers of the park, field sports and other entertainments were provided. The tennis contests were fine and the ball game between the Ligonier and Bolivar teams resulted in a victory for the former by a score of 16 to 1.

The reunion committee effected a permanent organization. I. M. Graham, Esq., of the Ligonier Echo was elected president and J. W. Singer, of Laughlintown, secretary. Hereafter good speakers will be secured for these annual gatherings and special trains will be secured to bring the crowd from along the main line.

The property of the Ligonier Fire Brick company was sold yesterday for $200. Over $20,000 was expended on the plant, when it was found the clay was unsuited for fire brick.

The determination of the Valley road to keep teams off the Idlewild park is exciting much unfavorable comment. The company has no signs up, yet causes the arrest of parties found driving on the grounds. The order was issued by Geo. Senft, superintendent of the road.
