At Idlewild
Monday, May 30th, Memorial Day, was the first big picnic of Idlewild and it was immense, more people wanting to come to this famous picnic ground from Pittsburgh than the P.R.R. could accommodate with transportation. At noon there was a card hung out in Pittsburgh, "No more tickets sold for Idlewild today." There were six P.R.R. trains required as specials with an average of about ten cars each. There must have been at least 6,000 on the grounds. Idlewild will be more popular this year than ever, with larger crowds than heretofore. Ligonier ought to be prepared to entertain and feed everybody who comes here during this picnic season and will be capable of doing so.
