New Railroad Booming
Ligonier Valley Extension Is Rapidly Nearing Somerset
General Manager Byers, of the Pittsburg, Westmoreland & Somerset railroad, was at the Capital last Thursday night, enroute to Somerset, where he goes this morning in the interest of his road, says the Johnstown Democrat.
"We are now over the summit," said Mr. Byers last night, "rails being laid to a point on this side within eight miles of Somerset. Trains are being run between Ligonier and Bluestone on a regular schedule and we have been surprised at the amount of traffic we pick up. I have just bought a new class L (sic) locomotive today and we are preparing for a growing business.
