Railroad Men Hurt
T. I. Daniels And Thos. Johnston Both Met With Accidents

Last Friday night engineer, T. I. Daniels, of the Pittsburg, Westmoreland and Somerset railroad met with a sad accident. He was bringing his engine from Altoona where it had been taken on Tuesday last for repairs and had stopped at Conemaugh and got out to oil the engine and in walking in front of it fell into an ash pit and badly brushed and sprained his knee. He was brought to Latrobe and attended by Dr. Casey, of that place and brought to Ligonier on the train, Saturday, forenoon, and carried on a stretcher to his home on Fairfield street.

On last Wednesday Thomas Johnston, conductor on Mr. Daniels train was severely cut in the leg and foot. He and some other men were working on a platform for unloading logs. There were chopping one behind the other and Mr. Johnston stepped back just as the man struck with his ax, striking him in the foot and severely cutting it, the large tendon of the hell being severed. Mr. Johnston was carried to his boarding place where he was attended by Dr. W. M. Miller.
