Railroad Chartered
The new railroad from Ligonier to Somerset, was chartered July 20, with capital stock of $220,000 to be known as the Pittsburg, Westmoreland and Somerset R. R. Co.
Stockholders and officers were elected Monday night at a meeting held in town. J. Henry Cochran, of Williamsport, Pres; L. H. Allen, of Buffalo, N.Y., Sec. and Treas; Capt. N. Allen, Gen. Manager.
Lumber Company
The Byers-Allen Lumber Co., with capital stock of $50,000 also organized and elected the following officers: Capt. N. Allen, Pres; L. H. Allen, Secretary and Treasurer.
