Byers-Allen Lumber Company
This company is pushing the work on the lumber mill as well as on the railroad. The frame of the mill has been raised and the weatherboarding and roof will soon be on and the mill ready for the machinery. The roadbed is being graded up into the mountain to tap the timber land. There are at present about 70 men at work on the road, 25 in the woods on the mountain and 20 at the mill. It is expected to be ready to manufacture lumber some time in September next.
Rails have been received and work is being done toward the extension of the L.V.R.R. track to the lumber mill of the Byers-Allen Lumber Co.
