Rush For Mountain Land
A great deal of timber land on Laurel Ridge mountain has changed hands during the past few months. There has been a great rush in trying to get hold of these lands and to locate old claims. Many of the claims overlap one another and the titles of not a few are said to be defective. Both attorneys and surveyors have been busy in trying to find out and locate old and original titles. This flurry has been caused by the prospects of a new railroad from Ligonier to the mountain south of Mechanicsburg. It is asserted that there are some rich mineral deposits in the mountain.
