While Foreman John Rhey, of Ligonier, was prying up a portion of the Ligonier Valley railroad, at that place, on the 3d inst., Robert McDowell, one of his men, was seriously hurt. They were using a pry in connection with a jack when one of the ties gave way. The whole weight was thrown upon the long pry, which Mr. McDowell was assisting to hold down. It flew up, striking him in the face. His lips were cut through, two teeth knocked out, his upper jaw bone crushed and his nose mashed.
