Seriously Hurt
John Anderson, Superintendent of the A. B. Childs' stone quarry at Blue Rock, on the Ligonier Valley R.R., was badly injured Friday afternoon by a premature explosion of a blast. He had only gotten a short distance away when the explosion occurred. A huge rock struck him on the left thigh, causing a compound fracture, besides injuring him otherwise. His injuries are of a very serious character and will require the best of skill and good nursing. His wife, who had been absent for some time visiting friends in Scottdale, was telegraphed for and arrived on Friday afternoon. He is aged about 45 years and has had charge of these quarries for a number of years where he has lived since
moving from town some four or five years ago.
Drs. Beltz and Miller were summoned and ministered to his injuries and Saturday morning he was sent to the West Penn Hospital.
